OTHER EXPERIENCE

Owner/Operator of Garrett Photography, Oakland, CA. Photography, Web and Graphic Design for commercial clients include Nike, Treetop Juice, Carol Petersen School of Ballet, The Center for Speech, Language and Occupational Therapy, and Special Events Productions. June, 1992 - Present.

Conceptualization and creation of CD-ROM based interactive multimedia piece Distortions. This piece utilizes audio, animation, digital imaging and original live action video to explore the ramifications of illness and trauma within a family.

Development and implementation of cross media advertising campaign for McSwindle Oil, including print, display, video, and web-based media. The work included digitally composited original photography, original and appropriated video, and site-specific installation. I also composited original video using blue screen techniques and After effects 3.0. Other applications used included Photoshop 4.0, Freehand 5.5, Pagemill 2.0, Netobjects Fusion 1.0 and Bryce 2.0. This piece is an integrated public media work focusing on consumption, consumerism, and their implications for the state of the environment. Design and creation of print based advertising and promotional material for theatre (In Extremis), feature film (Conceiving Ada), and art exhibitions using Photoshop, Freehand, etc. This included lighting, photographing, designing and producing these pieces on a sometimes very limited budget.

Virtual Set Photographer/Stills on the feature film Conceiving Ada, by Lynn Hershman. Photographed and manipulated images to be used as background plates for blue screen.

Also worked with actors and crew to create props and promotional images for the film. Summer 1996.

Outreach Project Development, The Homeworld Project , UCDavis, April 1996 - June 1996. An outreach project funded by The Nelson Gallery through Artreach. Development and implementation of a project utilizing various facilities, faculty and staff (Department of Art and Department of Physics) to create interdisciplinary work and present it in the community and on the internet.
